Q: What was it like in the pen?

Bloody murder. You were all in this big pen, fastened off in this pen, there would be hundreds of men in there, three or four hundred men, maybe more. There foreman would come out for about eight men, if they was loading they'd want eight men, and there would be four or five hundred men fighting for that job.

Foreman would be up on a stand, like that, you'd be down here, and you'd be like that with your book, trying to get ... Like bloody cattle, you'd be "Here Harry, here Harry", and a bloke who'd be bigger than you would be there with his book pressing you down. Bloody murder, I'm telling you.
